Lupine Festival is Deer Isle's annual celebration of Island springtime. Festival date: June 19, 20 & 21, 2009.
Old Quarry Ocean Adventures offers Shoreline Kayak Trip and Native Plant Walk out of our facility on Webb Cove in Stonington. Join us in this celebration of Island springtime!

Shoreline Flowers & Plants Kayak Trip
Take a short paddle with wild plant expert and Maine Sea Kayak Guide Bridgid Doherty through some of the archipelago on your way to islands open to the public to examine the native flowers and plants, medicinal and edible, that survive in these salty island locations. Interesting plants that you might see include heather, rosa rugosa, beach peas, bayberry, blueberry, St. John's wort, yarrow, juniper and partridgeberry to name a few.

Saturday, June 20
Depart from Old Quarry at 9:00 am and return at 1:00 pm for the Shoreline Flowers & Plants Kayak Trip.
Please arrive at Old Quarry at 8:30 am to park and use the facilities. Please car pool when possible. RATES: $55/person
Native Edible & Medicinal Plants Walk
Walk the grounds at Old Quarry Ocean Adventures with wild plant expert and Maine Sea Kayak Guide Bridgid Doherty and discover the native edible and medicinal plants.
Reservations required: call Old Quarry Ocean Adventures at 207-367-8977. 5 person max each Walk.
