Spend a half-day kayaking and exploring the islands of the Stonington Archipelago with Old Quarry Ocean Adventures and learn about the natural history of this beautiful area. Afterwards, let our certified massage therapist ease your tired muscles with a relaxing massage. This outstanding package for two includes a two night stay in a large room at Pilgrim’s Inn, a full gourmet breakfast each morning, a half day kayaking trip and a one hour massage. "INN ON THE HARBOR":

See the Puffins! Come with us on an ocean adventure to see Maine's most beloved sea birds! Tour date is June 6 when we head south for Seal Island, federally protected breeding ground for the Atlantic Puffin. En route we pass many other favorite Penobscot Bay sights: lighthouses, seals, porpoises, schooners and other species of sea birds. Capt Bill Baker will share his interest of the Gulf of Maine's ecology and its diverse fisheries combined with historical facts about the islands, lighthouses and the granite industry. Lighthouse Tour on October 4 when we join Capt Bill Baker aboard the Nigh Duck for a glorious tour around Penobscot Bay. Embark at the Stonington Town Landing right in front of the Inn for this 5 hour boat trip. The Nigh Duck is heated, enclosed and has a pottie. Lighthouse Boat Tour Package on October 4, 2008. Blue Hill Inn

"BLUE HILL INN":

Eco-tour with the innkeeper: Saturday, May 24 (raindate Sunday, May 25). Start with the fabulous inn breakfast at 8 a.m. By 9, we'll be on the road heading for Old Quarry Ocean Adventures, with our fleece pullovers in hand. From 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., we'll be in Capt Bill's capable hands as he shares his knowledge about the natual history of the area as we cruise through the archipelago. We might see seals, seabirds, porpoises, eagles, osprey, an active quarry, Stonington Harbor, Mark Island Lighthouse (and hear its fabulous foghorn), the schooner fleet, and much of the 60 islands of the Stonington archipelago. Capt Bill will discuss natural history topics including the geology of the area, the history of the granite industry, other local history, lobster and fin fishing, and the local wildlife. We'll even get to haul a couple of Capt Bill's lobster traps on our way in. I'll bring the snacks and the picnic lunch. We'll be back on land early afternoon, leaving you time to explore Deer Isle's great hiking trails and shops. Package rates vary with room selection.
